Program Type: Research and Innovation Action

Research Areas: Develop an AI-enabled digital twin of traffic and infrastructure to allow monitoring and optimization of both safety and traffic flow, equally addressing congestion and resilience issues. Analyze what real-time countermeasures can be taken to reduce instantaneous risk levels for all road users complementary to existing Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) services. International cooperation is advised, in particular with the US, Japan, Canada, South Korea, Singapore and Australia. Activities are expected to achieve TRL 5-6.
