Description

NSERC and Mitacs have developed an opportunity for applicants seeking support through a NSERC Alliance to concurrently seek student support through Mitacs Accelerate Grant. This allows applicants to apply through a single application submission and review process. Funds contributed toward the project from a partner recognized for cost-sharing can be matched concurrently by Mitacs and by NSERC.

The application process follows the NSERC Alliance instructions, but applicants who wish to include Mitacs Accelerate internships in their Alliance application should contact their local Mitacs business development representative to obtain the Mitacs supplemental application and budget spreadsheet (to be included with the regular NSERC Alliance application).

Note that stipends for (different) HQP should be requested in both the Tri-Agency and the Accelerate application – the intention of this initiative, apart from streamlining the application process, is to maximize HQP on the project through incentivized cash-matching.
