SUMMARY:Discovery Grants (DG) - Internal Deadline
DESCRIPTION:Discovery Grants (DG)\n\nThe Discovery Grants program supports ongoing programs of research with long-term goals rather than a single short-term project or collection of projects. These grants recognize the creativity and innovation that are at the heart of all research advances. Discovery Grants are typically five years in duration and are considered “grants in aid” of research, as they provide long-term operating funds and can facilitate access to funding from other programs but are not meant to support the full costs of a research program.\n\nSee Information Centre quick link for a wealth of resources related to the Discovery Grants competition, including helpful videos, the Peer Review Manual, Merit Indicators rubric, and a Discovery Grants FAQ.\n\nThe NSERC Research Portal is used to apply for Discovery Grants and is separate from the CCV. You will need an account (login/password) for each of the NSERC CCV and the NSERC Research Portal. See quick link below for Research Portal and CCV login.\n\nNotification of Intent (NOI): Researchers who plan to apply to the fall competition (November 1), must submit an NOI through the Research Portal (August 1). No FAAF required.\n\n\nInternal Application Deadline: Oct 13, 2026 FAAF, CCV & NSERC portal generated PDF of application to the ADR\n\nUMFOD Details: https://research.ad.umanitoba.ca/mrt/pubapp/umfo_view.php?id=4362\n\nProgram URL: https://nserc-crsng.canada.ca/en/funding-opportunity/discovery-grants-program-individual\nInternal Deadline
