SUMMARY:Grant-in-Aid (GIA) - Internal Deadline
DESCRIPTION:Grant-in-Aid (GIA)\n\nThe Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada Grant-in-Aid program provides operating funds to support important, pertinent, novel research in the areas of heart disease and/or stroke. GIA funding to successful applicants (“Recipients”) promotes research discovery, exploration and innovation across all health research themes. Knowledge gained from scientific findings contributes to the cardiovascular and cerebrovascular health of Canadians through prevention, treatment, and recovery.\n\nUp to $400,000.00 CAD for up to four years ($100K for 1-yr project / $200K for 2-yr project / $300K for 3-yr project)\n\nHeart & Stroke implemented new Research Security requirements in 2025 for their research grant competitions and has adopted the use of both the National Security Guidelines for Research Partnerships (NSGRP) and the Sensitive Technology Research and Affiliations of Concern (STRAC) Policy to address Research Security and safeguarding research concerns.  Your application must include:\n\n\n	If advancing a Sensitive Technology Research Area, the PI must fill out a STRAC attestation.\n	All applications with collaborators outside of UM will need to fill out a Risk Assessment Form using the  RAF guidance document to create a first draft.
