Program Type: Innovation Action

Research Areas: Projects should develop techniques for extracting high-value seafood (including seaweed and algae) compounds and valorising seafood byproducts from discards of unavoidable unwanted catches or waste products for use in animal feed, or as inputs for food production, fertilizers, nutraceuticals, cosmetics, biotech, bioplastics or bio-based packaging. Projects should also use digital tools and predictive models to monitor pollution and improve waste management for fisheries and aquaculture. Activities are expected to achieve TRL 6-8.

Total Funding Available: €31M for 4 grants of €7-8M
