Description

The Tri-Agency Bridge Funding (CIHR) provides funding for the further development of unsuccessful CIHR Project Grants applications, to ensure future success.

Tri-Agency Bridge Funding Eligibility:

  • All full-time academic faculty members with professorial or academic librarian rank, holding tenure or tenure-track appointments; and geographical full-time (GFT) academic faculty members, appointed for three years or longer and who have a minimum 40% protected time for research are eligible to apply to the Bridge Funding Program. *Contingent, nil-salary and adjunct professors are not eligible to apply for internal grants*
  • Applicants must have held an active CIHR Project Grant for the same, similar or related project being applied for in this application, in the last 3 years as of this competition deadline, with funding now ended.
  • Must have applied in most recent CIHR Project Grant Competition for which results are received.
  • A CIHR Project Grant cannot be ‘bridged’ more than once.

 VPRI will match Faculty fund contributions 2:1 – up to $40,000 per application maximum from VPRI, provided there is a committed $20,000 match from Faculty.
