Description

The Emerging Leaders in the Americas Program (ELAP) enables eligible Canadian post-secondary institutions to award scholarships to students from Latin America and the Caribbean undertaking short-term study or research in Canada.

Interested candidates should review each program’s guidelines and contact their home institution’s international office to learn about partnerships and student exchange agreements with Canadian institutions. Home institutions will then provide eligible candidates’ documentation to their partners in Canada.

The total funding from GAC will not exceed $150,000 per project.

 

Please request application packages from Cameron Zywina, Research Contracts, University of Manitoba (Cameron.Zywina@umanitoba.ca), and then submit completed applications to Cameron by the internal deadline of March 11, 2026. A virtual information session will be held on Monday, February 23, 2026 at 2 pm to 3 pm. Please contact Cameron to register.
