Research Network of Excellence in Women’s Heart and/or Brain Health program
Brain Canada and Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada
The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada (“Heart & Stroke”) and Brain Canada Foundation (“Brain Canada”) are collectively launching a third network grant as part of the Research Network of Excellence in Women’s Heart and/or Brain Health program, committing $5,000,000 CAD over five years.
(Heart & Stroke implemented new Research Security requirements for their research grant competitions but did not inform the Research Grants Office. Heart & Stroke has adopted the use of both the National Security Guidelines for Research Partnerships (NSGRP) and the Sensitive Technology Research and Affiliations of Concern (STRAC) Policy to address Research Security and safeguarding research concerns. However, there are some notable differences in how Heart & Stroke use the NSGRP and STRAC compared to the federal agencies. ? If you have collaborators outside of the UM you will need to fill out a Risk Assessment Form using the RAF guidance document to create a first draft. Please contact the Research Security Office to help you determine if your research is advancing a STRA or for any questions you may have in completing the Risk Assessment form.)
