Description

Funding up to $10,000. Stimulates and supports the growth of research at the university for New Faculty only.

Successful applicants, who do not hold a Tri-Agency (CIHR, NSERC or SSHRC) grant, are expected to apply to the next appropriate Tri-Agency (CIHR, NSERC or SSHRC) program competition normally within one year of the expiration of their URGP grant. URGP grant-holders who do not submit an application to a Tri-Agency competition within this timeframe may be ineligible from applying for future URGP funds.

*Note Changes to URGP Eligibility* For purposes of this program New Faculty are defined as  full-time academic faculty members who are within five years of the date of their first full-time appointment. New Faculty are eligible to receive up to three URGP awards in the five-year period during which they are defined as new faculty.

*Please be aware that equity, diversity, and inclusion considerations have been added to the URGP application and guidelines. We have also expanded the forms of Research Contributions in the Record of Research/Scholarly/Creative Contributions section and in the assessment process to ensure recognition of a wider diversity of contributions. Keep these considerations in mind when completing your application.
