Research Award Nominations

Brent Deere, Associate Director, Research Awards in the Office of the Vice-President (Research and International) (VPRIO), (Brent.Deere@umanitoba.ca), is available to provide guidance and support throughout the research award nomination process. This includes responding to inquiries and coordinating requests for institutional letters of nomination or support from the Vice-President (Research and International) and/or the President.

For select awards*, Brent can also assist with preparing nominations, contacting referees, and coordinating nomination materials.

Some major awards competitions, such as the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) Impact Awards or the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) Arthur B. McDonald Fellowships, may require an internal selection process. For these competitions, VPRIO will establish an internal deadline and coordinate the nomination and selection process.

*Applies to awards that are not coordinated directly by a department and/or faculty. Please refer to individual award descriptions for more information.
